AO1: Develop ideas through sustained and focused investigations by contextual and other sources demonstrating analytical and critical understanding.
Throughout the whole of unit one I have researched about many photographers for different kinds of inspiration such as; Tom Hunter, David Bailey, Gadd Aims, Bruce Weber, Harlod Edgerton and so on. I would delve into these photographers on how they used different techniques and how they presented their images, using photographers helped me with how I would finish my final pieces. A photographer that had inspired me the most is Janne Parviainen who does light painting. She had inspire me because of how she manipulates an image using different kinds of light sources and camera exposures. I also got inspired by peoples posts on pinterest and tumblr, specifically one called caramel creme love. This tumblr page used a projector to project different kinds of images onto someone, this helped me finish a final piece I used in my disguise project.
During unit 1 I have experimented on various different techniques the ones I admired the most was light painting, disguise and photograms these where all of my successful projects because I experimented more, with the different techniques within them. For example for my disguise, although I have research for different photographers I referred to pinterest for most of my research, which helped a great deal due to the different aspects and ideas from other people. Each artist all had distinctive features on how their photos looked for instance, the photographers I researched disguised the face, whereas others will disguise parts of the body or disguise the whole image completely. Additionally I used photoshop to develop and enhance my images, this process took a long time especially because I wanted to get every aspect and feature of my subject such as one of m images with a woman on a bike. This image came out dull and dark so I used photoshop to brighten and intensify the colours both the background and fore picture.
In addition to this I also enjoyed photograms. I though it was interesting how different each photogram came out no matter what kind of objects you use. I wanted to do more photograms as final pieces, for the experience of using the dark room more often and learning about the process.
Finally Light painting was the theme that was the most compelling and engaging, it is the most unusual way to construct a photo. Janne Parviainen was the most encouraging and inspirational photographer for this project because of the amount of the work she puts into her projects. She uses long exposures, with either the same colour of different colour lights to paint the background of her surrounding, she does both light topography and light figures. I would have liked to do more light painting final pieces because of the curiosity on how your image will turn out, and the different ways you can style them. When I done light painting I and took a series of images, they weren't as good because they wasn't planned, nonetheless I believe if I plan out how I want my image, the colours I want and the appropriate time for the exposure I could get a good set of images.

AO2: Experiment with and select appropriate resources, media, materials, techniques and processes, reviewing and refining work as it develops.
I have experimented with a wide range of materials, techniques and processes for unit 1: Photoshop, illustrator, cyanotypes, photograms, camera obscura, pinhole camera, light painting, developer stop and fix chemicals. To refine and develop my work I have tried to improve it by doing more research and repeated taking images and or the process such as cyanotypes/ photograms. The project I refined the most was my disguise project although I don't have a great amount of research I do have stages on how I got to my ideas, and why I had created that final piece.
